Indiana fans can catch 2014 commit Trey Lyles, the No. 9 player in the country in his class, on CBS Sports Network tonight, after Lyles’ USA Blue 2014 squad advanced to the third-place game at adidas Nations. The contest, played against Australia, will tip at 8 p.m. Monday and air live.

Lyles put up 10 points, nine rebounds and two blocks in a 92-62 loss to USA Blue 2013 on Sunday night.

The blue-chip Indiana commit has been participating in the elite summer program since last year. On 2014 Blue, he’s teamed up with fellow 2014 five-star Jahlil Okafor, as well as IU recruit Paul Turner, a guard out of Chicago.

In the loss to Blue 2013, Lyles missed all four of his 3-point tries, but he hit 4-of-6 free throws, and he tallied eight of his nine rebounds at the defensive end of the floor.

Lyles is the latest in an impressive line of future Hoosiers to take part in Nations. Cody Zeller, Yogi Ferrell, Peter Jurkin, Hanner Mosquera-Perea and Jeremy Hollowell have all played in the annual event. Jurkin actually committed at the event in 2010.

Sheehey continues strong run

Participating in the prestigious summer tournament as a college counselor, junior forward Will Sheehey kept up an impressive all-around showing with seven points on 3-of-4 shooting in a game Sunday morning that ended at halftime.

He also scored 15 points in a separate, full-length game Sunday night, and he had 16 in a game Friday night. In two games Saturday, he scored 10 and 13 points, respectively.

Walker Beeken of Draft Express singled Sheehey out for praise on Twitter, calling him a “pleasant surprise” and a “legit NBA prospect.” Beeken characterized Sheehey thusly: “Very good athlete, tough, defends, makes shots.”

Last season as a sophomore, Sheehey averaged 8.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. He played more than 22 minutes per contest, and he started 11 of the 31 games in which he appeared.

Other IU targets in action

Noah Vonleh, Theo Pinson and Cliff Alexander, all priority targets in 2014, joined Lyles and Sheehey at the event this weekend. Here’s a look at how each faired Sunday:

*Vonleh posted a double-double, with 14 points and 13 rebounds in 2014 Red’s 67-62 win against Australia. Earlier in the day, he posted 10 points and four rebounds in a 102-88 loss to 2013 Blue.

*Alexander had six points and six rebounds in the loss to 2013 Blue, and two points and three rebounds in the win against Australia.

*Pinson tallied five points and three rebounds in the morning loss. He was quiet in the win against Australia, notching a steal while missing his one field-goal attempt and two free throws.

USA 2014 Red will play USA 2013 Blue for the adidas Nations title tonight on CBS Sports Network.
