Cleveland St. Ignatius safety/linebacker Dameon Willis announced via Twitter on Wednesday night that he is becoming the 12th member of the 2014 IU recruiting class.
"Ladies & Gentlemen I am proud to announce that I am now a Indiana Hoosiers, Hopefully they have that #43 ready for me," he tweeted.
The 6-foot, 208-pound Willis has a three-star rating according to 247Composite and 247Sports ratings. Indiana does not yet have a commit from a linebacker or safety. The only defensive players confirmed to the class of 2014 are either on the defensive line or at the cornerback position.
Willis made his choice between Indiana, Toledo, Wake Forest and Cincinnati. He received an offer in mid-May from Indiana, but named Louisville his leader in June. At the time, the 2014 prospect also placed Indiana and Wake Forest at the top of his list. Since then, he and the Cardinals drifted apart, leaving him with his current top four that still includes Indiana and Wake Forest.
He is the first defensive commit who isn’t a lineman or a cornerback for Indiana’s 2014 class. Inside Indiana will have more on this developing story.
