
Indiana has several active alumni in the NFL, and the ranks of former Hoosiers playing professionally has swelled this season, with the addition of Marcus Thigpen to the Miami Dolphins. Each week, InsideIndiana.com will run down how each former Hoosier fared in the previous weekend.
James Brewer — offensive lineman, New York Giants
Brewer appeared in his first game of the season last week, in the Giants’ 36-7 Thursday night win against Carolina. The Giants are now 2-1. They play the Eagles at 8:20 p.m. Sunday in Philadelphia.
Tandon Doss — wide receiver, Baltimore Ravens
Doss did not catch any passes in Baltimore’s 31-30 win against New England on Sunday night. The Ravens are now 2-1 on the season. Doss has one catch for six yards. The Ravens host Cleveland at 8:20 p.m. Thursday.
Tracy Porter — cornerback/nickel back, Denver Broncos
Porter tallied three tackles in the Broncos’ 31-25 loss to Houston last weekend. On the season, he has 14 tackles, six pass deflections and one interception, which he returned for a touchdown. Denver (1-2) hosts Oakland at 4:05 p.m. Sunday.
Courtney Roby — wide receiver, New Orleans Saints
Roby tallied a tackle in the Saints’ 27-24 overtime loss to Kansas City. On the season he has one catch, and he has also returned a blocked punt for a touchdown. The Saints (0-3) travel to Green Bay for a 4:25 p.m. Sunday game this weekend.
Roger Saffold — offensive tackle, St. Louis Rams
Saffold is on the bench with a sprained MCL, suffered last week. The Rams lost to Chicago 23-6 in his absence. St. Louis (1-1) hosts Seattle at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Marcus Thigpen — running back/kick returner, Miami Dolphins
Thigpen returned four kickoffs for a total of 92 yards, and two punts for a total of nine yards, in Miami’s three-point overtime loss to the New York Jets last weekend. Miami (1-2) travels to Arizona for a 4:05 p.m. Sunday game this week.
