New IU assistant coach James Patton said he's excited to move back to the Midwest, where he traces his familial and coaching roots, as a native of Ohio, an alumnus of Miami (Ohio) and a former coach at Miami and Northwestern.
Any coaching move is hard, even for an assistant. But several factors in play in his move from Oklahoma to Indiana have made James Patton's transition a smooth one.
