Patrick Dougherty, a two-star defensive lineman from Aurora (Ohio) committed to Indiana on Saturday, becoming the Hoosiers’ third pledge in the 2013 class. Dougherty chose the Hoosiers over Ohio, his other finalist, as well as offers from Cincinnati and Boston College, among others.

He confirmed the news to InsideIndiana.com on Saturday night.

A 6-foot-5, 250-pound prospect out of Aurora, Dougherty projects as either a defensive or offensive tackle in college, thanks to his length, and to his athleticism in relation to his size. He visited Indiana on June 18, just more than a month after picking up an offer from the Hoosiers.

Last season at Aurora, Dougherty tallied 78 tackles, 14 for loss, and five sacks, playing at defensive end for the Greenmen, who finished the 2011 season 12-2 and advanced to the state semifinals.

InsideIndiana.com will have more on this developing story.
