Wins and Losses: The weekend

Indiana 87, North Dakota State 61

This week's Wins and Losses offers a blend of football and men's and women's basketball, looking back at a busy last four days.

    • I think there are too many players in the mix right now to keep things crisp. I mean Hulls went a long time against Bisons without taking a shot. With so many options..its tough to get to find the right guy. There's been one isolation play in two games for VO..and he carried us thru the touranment with that move. Hulls isn't getting enuff shots etc, Yogi likes to pass..but should have taken at least3 more shots than he did last night rather than force the ball into clogged lane. It is strange that a time what was an offensive machine in the post season..with basically the same starters...are not more smooth right now than they are. they have to start by pounding it down low to Zeller and Wat...my main bitch about Creans offense is that it doesn't have those specific plays to open up the 3 pt shooters..he'd rather drive and dish. MSU for example excels at 3pt screens. In time maybe??

I think in time. Crean kind of alluded to the idea that Indiana hasn't yet fully realized its own identity this year, with some players folded into the team and some departed. I think it's early yet, and there's plenty of time to figure out how the dynamic changes with Yogi Ferrell, a better Remy Abell, etc.
