Great result for the boys tonight. I haven't kept up with soccer as much as I'd like, so I was surprised to see Beasley at left back. He's getting up there in age and he certainly doesn't have the speed he once did.
That was a tenuous role, no doubt. But first point in the Azteca since 1997 I believe ... I'll take it.
Beasley was an emergency stop gap choice for left back. I know he struggled but when you consider that he's a midfielder playing out of position and that Mexico targeted him all night, he deserves credit for getting the job done, even if it was very ugly at times.
Especially playing on a yellow for so long.
