I feel like IU is the underdog in this game, though I am sure most others do not share that perception. Their lineup will pose serious matchup problems for Jordan and Yogi. I am aware this has been an issue in the past, but seems bigger this time. Syracuse zone forces you to play in the half court, which has been one of our biggest issues all season. The syracuse adj. tempo is 224 in the country. IU will need to do everything it can to play faster. So what I think needs to happen
- Defensive rebounding. Absolutely essential to getting any kind of transition game going. Won't be easy as Syracuse is one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the country
- Establish Cody in the mid-range. Soft spot in the zone, plus he turns the ball over too much down low
- Take any open threes you have. Seen a hesitant trigger from Jordan and Christian recently. Need to take those shots
I am not confident IU wins tonight. Let's hope I'm wrong.
I'm in the same boat with you. I'm not feeling very confident at all. My friends on the other hand, all say they think IU will by 10+
