Does this mean all the Steven's to IU chatter will stop?

Wow. No one saw this coming
Color me shocked I had no idea this was coming but good luck to him.
This is a new year. A new beginning. And things will change.
mkillian247 on twitter..... I say a lot of stuff you wont care about.
I am the "jackwad", coo coo kachoo!!
Anyone think Michael Lewis gets the Butler job on an interim basis? That would be great for Lewis.
Absolutely no one.
Good move for him, and kind of one of those basketball jobs you almost can't turn down, especially for someone who I think has always been attracted to tradition like that (though I won't begin to profess to be a Butler insider).
Puts Butler in a tough spot. Barry Collier has gotten a lot of hires right, no doubt (Matta, Lickliter, Stevens, etc.), but this deep into the offseason, this close to the July window and this year, when Butler goes into the Big East, but this will be tough to navigate.

Ronald Nored for Butler? He is an Asst there now, I think.
Wow. Amazing. From Boston and a celtics fan, love the hire. Did not see this coming. Will be interesting to see how he does in the nba
OMG this is huge!
Is this a July fools joke?????
I wonder what recruits will leave. Its very late. I would think many are on campus already.
Yeah, couldn't believe it when I saw it. Very suprising by this move. Best of luck to him, and hope he has a great career. Very good person and coach! Here is the ESPN article:
Indiana leads the Big Ten in NCAA titles (five), wins (64) and appearances (37).
Too bad. I thought that Butler would have made a great in state rival for years to come. Don't blame him for taking this road but dam it would have been awesome for college basketball.
So where's the Hinkle magic now?
WOW is all.
Ordinarily I would have thought Butler will just find another smart, methodical coach who can keep their gravy train rolling, but it's awfully late for a coaching search.
It'll be interesting to see how he does there. The Celtics are going to suck next year (don't put that on the Internet) and appear to be diving headfirst into the Andrew Wiggins sweeptakes. That could be tough for a coach who's so used to winning.
On a lighter note, Crean isn't the only one secretly breathing a sigh of relief about his potential future replacement going elsewhere. Matt Painter's gotta be thinking "Whew, don't have to be fourth-best in our own state anymore."
should be very interesting to see who butler picks to replace stevens. that job is a proven launching pad for a coaching career.
WOW! Sorry Butler!
WOW! Congratulations Coach. Hope they give him the time necessary for Celt's rebuild to reach fruition. Huge job ahead of him.
Wow. I guess he is waiting for the iu job lol.
Wonder if DD has Collier's number on speed dial?
Good for Stevens! Congrats man.
Good for Crean too. It makes a lot of that comparison chatter go away.
Good Luck to Brad - hope he does well
Crean to Butler VBG
Wow! Frankly, I'm shocked. He is a proven winner. His teams play hard. I have a lot of respect for him. But, wow. My son called me on his way home from work to ask if I'd heard about the hire. In our discussion, he pointed out that it could be a "Pitino situation " where if the pro thing doesn't work out, he can always go back to college ball. I don't think he would be out of work for very long.
Haaaaaa. Stevens trying to coach Rondo? Good luck.
