mkillian247 on twitter..... I say a lot of stuff you wont care about.
There's no one happier than Oaken today. For those that don't know him, he's been with 247Sports pretty much since the beginning and has been a huge contributor and advocate of this site and 247Sports in general.

Truly is an exciting day. With all of us working together, there will be no better place for IU sports and discussion. No doubt in my mind!
Indiana leads the Big Ten in NCAA titles (five), wins (64) and appearances (37).
Now people will have a reason to be more afraid of you.
This is a new year. A new beginning. And things will change.
As I've looked around the site, there seems to be an abundance of information that is only accessible under the premium login. The beauty of the HSN site is that we all had access to any information and shared it freely. I hope that this doesn't turn into one of those situations where only the "back page" stuff is accessible on the free pages. I'll reserve judgement for now, but I'm afraid we're moving back into a VIP vs. average Joe situation.
It's not your imagination.
Inside the Hall is still free and still has more information on IU recruiting than any paid service. You won't be lacking for information if you don't pay for it here.
We really do strive to keep a strong balance of free and premium content here at II. The message board communities in particular are meant to be largely free for all to access, with premium content kept at a minimum here.
I would encourage you to check out our free trial offer, which runs from now until all the way to the start of basketball season. And even if that's not of interest to you right now, stick with our boards, as again, those are kept almost totally free and are open to all that want to come in and discuss IU sports and more!

Well said Zach.
Remember everyone, just give this place some time. The message board is here for you guys. Think of the message boards as being the exact same as HSN, just a different setup. That won't change. A huge added bonus is the option of having premium access, which is incredible to have.
It took time to get used to the previous site, so please be patient. You will truly enjoy it!!!
I will second, third, fourth, and fifth this. Inside the Hall is the best IU basketball site available, by far. I have done the message board thing elsewhere, but if you want articles and information, ITH is the place. Excuse my skepticism, but I will be surprised if another site does anything better than they do for free for a long time. Not to mention they run a three or four man show, I believe. They recently added premium stuff, but promised to keep up their free content; I will verify that they have kept their promise.
Now why didn't CC sell the board to Inside the Hall instead...
CC didn't sell the board to InsideIndiana or 247Sports. It's a partnership so by supporting this site and community, you are supporting CC and HSN.
I understand your skepticism! Man, I fought it for almost a year... 24/7 kept talking and I really wasn't taking them all that seriously. I stopped by their place in Nashville about 6 months ago to just check them out and I discovered that everyone was saying the same thing. It will be your board. It will be under your control. We don't want you to change a thing. The other thing I discovered was that many of their employees are board owners of some of their sites The founder of South Carolina's board works for 24/7 and he said it was the best thing for his board. They have continued to say it today...this is our board.
Regarding IHT, I really like IHT. Great site, great information. I visit there a few times a week. If you are anything like me, you visit a bunch of sites every week. Peegs, BTbanners, IHT, Indy Star, ESPN, Sterling... Each one of these sites bring something different to the mix. I took this in mind when I partnered our site with 24/7. You are in no way obligated to join the pay site. You will (hopefully) be able to have the same great discussions here that you have had on our old site. You do get the chance to check out this pay site for free though AND you get to go to IHT too! I think this is a win/win for us and our community. So by all means, please keep going to other sites, I will be going there too! But this isn't a bad thing for HSN in any way. We have expanded our future in fantastic ways. IMHO.

We all had premium access there.
There was no premium content.

Tom Crean on being oversigned: We have a plan A, plan B, plan C. … It’s rarely ever going to be public.
Premium information, is only that which is required to pay for. We all had access to any information posted or blogged. If it was old news fine, if it was breaking news, we all got it.
Exactly. Don't get people complaining. It will still be a great place to talk IU sports, with the same people. Plus, if people are really bothered by there being premium content, it's like 9 bucks for the entire year, not a huge deal at all. People don't like change, but it was inevitable with the growth of HSN. I think this is fantastic and will be great for all involved. Glad to be welcomed here.
Incidentally, why do some of us have 5 star rankings and others are unrated, when we all started yesterday?
Completely agreed Jaybob. People remember the end, but most people forget how much work and change actually went into the site. People were apprehensive when we first left the TSS because of the layout at HSN. As everyone has said this isn't a finished product.
Guys it is going to take time to get use to all of the changes we may not like them right away but as time goes on I'm sure we will grow to love them so just be patient.
Once you get 10 votes (up or down), you will get rated. It was explained that if you had 8 up votes and 2 down votes, your rating will be 80% (4 stars).
I kind of like the idea of a fresh start. We've got a great infrastructure from HSN and a great support system from 247. I think it will be cool to see where this goes :)
"I'm looking for people who understand why we wear the candy striped pants, why it says Indiana on the front,& what that stands for" T. Crean
ok Thank you. Seems a little subjective to me.
Give me an up vote, will ya?
Since you asked nicely.
Yeah, I can tell by his post count. We have some members that'll give him a run for his money though.
