We have a lot of unknowns with this team I will wait until I see everybody play before I hand out a ranking.
This is a new year. A new beginning. And things will change.
#20 seems like a good number. We've got plenty of talents.
That's why it's called PRE-season.
As of right now I would have to say top 20.
i'm surprised about the hope for AE. hate to be a jerk, and like him a lot as a teammate, but don't see who he'd play in front of. now, i do realize Crean subs a 13 man rotation sometimes, but... 1 Ferrell 2 Sheehey 3 Vonleh 4 Hollowell 5 Gordon 6 Fischer 7 Perea 8 Robinson 9 Williams all seem locks to play more minutes at a very minimum. i guess he could fight to be the 10th man, and i know he is a shooter, but anything more than a Matt Roth role would be shocking to me. if you read this board- sorry AE. i think you are a great teammate and i love how you help recruit for iu and how you cheer on the team in the games!
SUCCESS IS A COMMITMENT - NOT A WISH
I say we'll be ranked #19.
18th sounds about right for us.
Actually, I think you have spotted Austin's role perfectly. I see nothing wrong with that, nor a need to apologize for it.
USA Today is ranking IU #23 pre-season.
College basketball preseason Top 25 rankings: 2013-14,USA TODAY Sports' Scott Gleeson and Nicole Auerbach break down the preseason top 25 teams in the country for 2013-14.
Agree with Stuhoo on this one. I would say low 20s. However, the youth coupled with the athleticism, we could see a significant move up or down the rankings pretty early on. Three things I would bet on:
1. I will be very frustrated some games because of the inability of the team to put it all together.
2. There will be games that are so fun to watch that I will forget, if only briefly, the frustrating moments of the season.
3. This team will be very competitive and freakishly athletic. By the time the B1G tournament rolls around, nobody in the B1G will want to face them.
"God was here before the Marine Corps. So you can give your heart to Jesus, but your ass belongs to the Corps!"
I got us in the 17-20 range to start the year. We won't play our best ball until later in the year, but it will be against the beef of our schedule. I could see us ending around 22-25 and a 6 seed with some great wins (Michigan-home) and horrible losses (Nebraska)
