Former Hoosier Reed dies

Neil Reed went from Hoosier hero to a villain in the eyes of many IU fans, but all fans can agree he is gone too soon after passing away at the age of 36.

  • Sad news. Its scary how life can be so quickly taken away from you.

  • Very sad indeed! Remember reading the NOLA newspaper when Reed was in HS. Was a big fan of his and he did nothing to change that while at IU. Kid played with a separated shoulder one year and was still all over the floor giving it his all. I think the Patterson, Miller, Reed, and forgetting last kid came in with so much hype that was never lived up to. Pretty much the beginning of the end for RMK. Miller was FL's AT leading scorer that underperformed. Patterson suffered serious knee injury and was too soft. Never forget his game against Duke in Madison Square Garden though. We lost Reed, Collins, and Recker in a short time span. Too much to overcome. Didn't Collins die a few years back to? RIP Neil..
