Zeller gets his first field goal on a fastbreak dunk, and Indiana is up 7-4 at the under-16 timeout. Hoosiers aren't shooting well from the field, but Iowa can't find anything easy offensively, and thus Indiana leads.

Zeller's missed a few seemingly easy shots on offense, but watching him on defense is exhausting. Two Iowa possessions before the current media timeout, he went 30 feet away from the basket to trap an Iowa player, then raced back to the corner and poked the ball away from another player.

IU's been doing a lot of that early on, forcing six turnovers in the first five minutes. Iowa has only managed four shots while IU has taken nine. If/when IU's shots start falling, expect the lead to be more than 7-4.

At the under-12, IU leads 11-6. Iowa's hardly able to get shots off on offense, and IU is having a hard time making theirs go down. Teams are shooting a combined 28.5 percent from the floor (6-for-21), and nobody has more than four points. Iowa has committed eight turnovers and seven fouls.

At his press conference yesterday, Crean spoke a little about the Minnesota loss, saying that when IU was in an early 8-2 hole, it wasn't as much about the score as it was about the style of play and strength of the start.

Tonight, though IU only leads by five, perhaps it's the same kind of situation. It's not as much about the score, but more about the fact that IU is absolutely stifling any kind of offense Iowa runs tonight. We just saw Iowa seemingly forget about the shot clock because IU wouldn't allow any room to do anything on offense. Despite the shooting and just a five-point cushion, we're seeing a much stronger start from IU tonight.

That's something we seem to consistently see from IU...after a turnover, players stay tuned in and often try to force another turnover to get the ball back. Zeller looked angry after that last turnover, and it resulted in what has to be the play of the night so far.

For as poorly as Iowa has played, the Hawkeyes are only down seven late in the first half. Hoosiers sluggish in taking control of this game.
