Going into last season, he was seemed really focused on having a bigger impact, but it just never played out. Here's what he told me prior to the season about how he saw his role:
“I’ve been changing the composition of my body, trying to be more athletic. My athleticism was something that I didn’t really use as much as I should have last year. It’s something I have, but I don’t use it as much as I should. That’s been my biggest focus. I don’t just want to increase those thing, but I want to get into the habit of using that athleticism and knowing when to bring that out.”
He wanted to be more of a shooter, as well, but that wasn't the role Coach Crean wanted him to play. Personally, I think this is the best possible move for him. he will only benefit from playing time somewhere else. It's unfortunate that things didn't work out for him at IU, but he still has a bright future.
