  • Harris, who played for Hamilton Southeastern, is a starter for the East roster. Ferrell will come off the bench for the West.

  • Watching Ferrell's quickness in this game reckons back to this summer's AAU season. He could compete off the dribble against anyone in the country. He can also make his acrobatic passes in traffic against the best, too, as he just showed with an assist for an easy dunk on the drive.

  • Ferrell back to the bench after the timeout. Lots of talent on these rosters, so touches are hard to come by.

  • Another intermission, and a couple of Tom Crean tweets that might interest you:

"I know Jay Williams will be giving the love to Yogi and he needs it from Stephen Bardo too. Keep the Illini love to himself. Lol."

"I hear the Hoosier Nation is out in full force. Come on Jay! We can play multiple point guards. We can do alot of things next year."

"Still bewildered why we as coaches have to sit at home and watch this game yet Agents and NBA people can be there. Call me crazy."

  • Score is 30-30 with 7:57 left in the first. Ferrell set to take the court after this timeout, I believe.

  • Ferrell gets his second assist on a 3-pointer from Rasheed Sulaimon. Analysts just said Ferrell was the "best point guard" in yesterday's practices.

  • Ferrell with a steal on the last play, and the West has a six-point lead with 3:30 to go in the first.

  • Said this on Twitter, but deserves restating: Ferrell's crossover and hesitation move are, without a doubt, the best he has to offer. Unstoppable off the hesitation because of his quick first step, and the crossover is just so quick. The hesitation move reminds me a bit of Derrick Rose's take on it: just impossible to stop if you can't guess where it's going.

  • At halftime, the West has a 58-46 lead over the East, with undecided Shabazz Muhammad leading the way: 15 points while 7-of-12 from the field, along with 5 rebounds.

IU signee Yogi Ferrell (West) has three assists to his name and a steal while missing both of his shot attempts on the half. Fellow Indiana native, Gary Harris (East), has two points, three assists and two rebounds.

In his limited minutes, Ferrell has looked strong and able to get around players as he sees fit. That might have something to do with the low-defense nature of these types of games, but his moves have been crisp and sent a couple players buckling so far. We'll see how this plays out in the coming half.

  • Nice little pass fake and floater from Yogi, but it doesn't fall. Loses an assist to a sloppy shot on the next possession, too. Let's just say his statline won't be tremendous in this one.

  • Ferrell can't seem to get them to fall and is 0-of-4 right now, but he has five assists to his name, a rebound and a steal, as well. Should have a couple more dimes but for poor takes by his teammates, but that's to be expected in an all-star game. He also has no turnovers, and in a sloppy game like this, that's saying something.

  • Ferrell on the board on a 3-pointer, then misses a reverse on the next possession. He's now got 3 points on 1-of-7 shooting, 5 assists, 1 rebound and 1 steal.

The most noticeable point of Yogi's game is that he hasn't taken a bad shot yet. Has been open, in control and on point with his shot so far today. They're just not falling.

  • Game getting pretty close toward the end of this one, a six-point lead with 1:52 left for the West. Ferrell draws the first free throws in what seems like hours and goes1 -2 from the line. He has 3 points, 6 assists, 1 rebound and 1 steal now.

  • Ferrell explodes in the transition game and grabs assist No. 7 and No. 8. Not a great night shooting-wise for him, but his passing game has been sensational.
