IU’s quest for a berth in the 2013 Final Four got a massive boost Tuesday morning, when both Christian Watford and Cody Zeller announced their intention to return next season.

  • One banner, two banner, three banner, four.... five banner, six banner knocking at your door!

  • What a great day. Not very many people would have thought (me Included) that we would be in this position at this point in the process. Now we are ranked as the Big Ten favorites and national title contenders. I know these are just words but it does mean something considering where we were at just a year ago.

At this point (and it's early), I don't think anything is out of play.

Totally expected by myself, vbg. IU currently has 15 players on scholarship for 2012-2013. That means 2 players have to either leave the program or give up their scholarships for 2012-2013 !! My guess is that Matt Roth (who has reportedly earned both his regular degree and his Masters degree) will move on to bigger and better things ??? That still leaves one more scholarship dilemma to resolve. I see Austin Etherington as the most logical choice to transfer or give up his scholarship ???? Of course, there is still plenty of time between now and November 1,2012. It will be interesting to see what develops between then and now !! Go Hoosiers !!

  • FAN-tastic..and more. Let's not care about the pre-season ratings..let's just focus on how much depth IU will have..and the really good offensive and defensive rotations Crean can now use. If current players improve as projected...and "the movement" fills in the holes...nothing is impossible. How Crean works out the one over-scholarship issue will be tricky.

  • The offseason spotlight now shines brightly on the scholarship crunch. Watford's return bodes well for IU as I felt he made major strides as a junior. The only question remaining is how will Indiana create space for the five freshmen.
