Had to leave the house for social commitments right before the scoring started. Freaking social commitments!
Westbrook sure pitched a gem after Waino's complete game.... Cards really need to get going. What are they, 2 of their last 7-10 games?
Indiana leads the Big Ten in NCAA titles (five), wins (64) and appearances (37).
Definitely in a rough patch. 11-13 in our last 24. Pitching (minus Waino) has come back to earth. Kozma and Jay aren't getting it done. I shudder to think where we'd be without Yadi, Lil Carp, Beltran, and Craig. They've carried our offense.
Angels have been playing well lately, hope the Cards can show Albert how to play some real baseball.
Cardinals with a nice win yesterday. I was at the game, so of course we were going to win lol. Lynn pitched a very good game, and I was worried Rosenthal was going to give it right up. Luckily he worked through it. Crowd was loud when he was working to get that last out, was a lot of fun. I love the atmosphere of Busch Stadium!
As a side note, it was Christian Day at the ball park. After the game, some of the players and Matheny spoke after the game about their faith. It was awesome. After they got done, Willie from Duck Dynasty spoke. He did a great job. It was great to see this, being a big Christian. Hope they do it again!!!
They do Christian day every year. I was there in the mid-late nineties (can't remember which year but Darrel Porter was a featured guess) and they did it. I don't think it was new then. I'm pretty sure they'll have one next year too.
To put an end to possibly Mo's worst signing ever, Wiggy was released today. Rob Johnson (catcher for AAA) called up. Yadi with a sore knee and the All-star break coming up this will give him some much needed rest. Guessing he'll pinch hit while Johnson serves the back up catcher role for Tony Cruz.
This is a great idea imo. Let Yadi rest. We shouldn't need him hopefully against Houston. Save him for the bigger picture, not right now!
... or need him against the scrubs
and now they traded Mitchell Boggs to Colorado for the Rock's no. 4 International bonus slot.

Always hate losing to the Cubs. Loved watching Matheny go after the Ump, was awesome. Just hope the Cards come out fired up today and take it to the Cubbies.
Was reading some good material online today. Cardinals are possibly in the market for Asdrubal Cabrera (sp), in a trade deal with the Indians. Looks like they would have to give up a good pitching prospect who's close to the majors. Will be interesting to see how this unfolds, because the Cardinals are wanting more production from that spot.
Also, even though it's nothing serious at the moment, Cardinals have been linked to pitcher Matt Garza. This is just my opinion, but this would probably only be for the rest of the season, nothing longer. No reason to keep him around longer unless they want to try and raise his stock the 2nd half of the season, and trade him to get good value back for him.
The last few weeks have been a little up and down but who'd a thunk we'd be 21 games over .500 and have the best record in baseball at the All-Star break? It was great to see Yadi get his stroke back last night and Kozma get some positive at bats. Looking good for the second half!
This. We weathered the storm quite well. Yadi solidified his MVP campaign last night. There is no player in baseball more valuable to his team than Yadi.
Hey STL Folks. My family and I will be hitting a Cards/Cubs game in early August. What are you suggestions to do in or around the ball-park pre-game?
Send me a pm. I have a few ideas for ya.
Watch it Natty, this will probably involve sheep!
Cards win the series. Off game today. Sorry I haven't been on much, been very very busy!!!
good guys won again
YAY good guys!
Miller with a very nice outing. Always great to see him with a very good game. 6 shutout innings, with only 1 walk I believe.
Jake with another nice game. Cards take down the fillies. Lance Lynn takes the mound tomorrow night. Hopefully in a much better manner than last Saturday. In other news, pitcher John Gast is having surgery to repair a tear in his left lat. Hopefully we'll see more good things from him next year. He looked great before going down with the lat tear.
Tonight is a very important start for Lynn IMO after his one-on-one chat with Matheny. His body language has been awful lately.
On a side note, I LOVED seeing Westbrook steal 2nd and score on a single. Great fundamental baseball right there.
The 3.14159 rats finally lose to the gnats. Time to pad the lead!
So, will the Cards make a move or will they stand pat? We have great leadership, so I pretty much trust them.
